Week 2 Day 3

We received quite the compliment from our conservation liasion about our work in the park. She said without our contributions they wouldn't have met their goals for maintaining the park.
During our service learning work, we each took turns offering support as project manager, by setting team and individual goals, offering encouragement and providing rewards for meeting our goals. Great job team!!!

I was a great project Manager. I complimented my teammates and made any changes to the work if necessary. Peter and Will were also really good project managers in the same way. When it was swim time, I had a splash fight against Ryan, and I also saw a bald eagle. I didn't see any Cooper's hawks, but I could hear them.

Today was a great Day 8. We collected thousands of weeds again today. Our team name was Native Hawks this time. Today I learned that Project Manager does the stuff besides the work while the rest do the work. The project manager gives the team clear communication, empathy, active listening, respect, encouragement, and avoids taking over.

In the beginning, I've watched the empathy of one girl named Vanessa who felt stupid at first, but at the very end, Lisa knew that Vanessa said non-blaming words to her. I saw that Ryan & Nate were working so hard by pulling all the plants that cannot be in this environment. At the end, we've gone swimming to Lake Washington and I passed my swimming test for the first time.
