ELP wk 4 Day 2

Our social skill theme of the week is Emotion Management and I am sure we are all working overtime to keep our emotions in check with this heat! In particular, today, we worked on self talk -- noticing and reporting the things that we say to ourselves, in our head. We also talked about the effect of positive vs. negative self talk. Please give me an example of what you said to yourself today while we were working.

Hope everyone is able to cool off tonight. We'll be extra vigilant tomorrow to make sure we stay hydrated and don't get to hot.

Cowen Park Day 5-- FUN FRIDAY

Today we were lucky to have Jonathan Chase come speak to us. Jonathan told about some of the trials and successes he has had as a person growing up with Asperger's Syndrome. You can find more information about Jonathan by clicking on the links below

Jonathan encouraged all of us to keep trying things that are uncomfortable or challenging. He felt that by just trying those things he was able to learn about himself and is a better person now -- and besides, being uncomfortable can't kill you!

After his talk we all walked down University Ave. and checked out the poster store before getting lunch and catching Harry Potter. Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks to those who did great blogging all week!

See you Monday.
