Week 2 Day 4: Handling a Problem

Word is out about the ELP group! We were recruited by our first work service project host to take part in another project. Bonnie from Magnuson Environmental Stewardship Alliance asked us to help with the Promontory Point Habitat Enhancement project. During the work, people checked in with others about their perspective on team efforts. We also used active listening and clear communication to understand how to do several new jobs. Way to go, team!

i just wanted to say it is Week 2 Day 4. the day went great we went to a place called promnotory point. we did the ussual the weeding and the woodchips. one of my goals that i met was asking our supervisor a question of why promnotory point is improtant to the park. it is important because it will help animals and birds live here.

I learned about how our work affected the environment. The wood chips will decay into soil and witin years, the small plants will grow big, and the trees will grow to a huge size. I did get to see a red-tailed hawk and hear it's call. I did get to ask Bonnie what her favorite bird was, and she said it was the bald eagle.

Today was a wonderful Day 9. My goal was to ask what happens to the plants at Promontory Point during the Winter. I learned that the plants at Promotory Point can survive during the Winter because of the rain.

We learned Bonnie the manager used to work at a bank and she likes the northwest cause of the rain.
Tommorow we're going to go rockclimbing hopefully that'll go well. My goal today was to ask somebody about their perspective about the work. I asked Cory that question and he said "it was ok".
I'm guessing because he probaly wasn't that much found of working with woodchips.

I was taking perspective & emotions of other people by asking questions about the environment & the work. We talked to Bonnie about herself how long she was outside. At the end, I met my goal by thinking of Alex's perspective while we were acting.
