After clearing 16,000 square feet on Thursday, we were invited back to the North Remnant Forest for a new challenge. Today we created mulch barriers around small native species to keep the invasive species from impeding their growth. We broke into teams to create a competition and by breaktime, the teams dumped more than 50 buckets of much-needed mulch around Firs, Hemlocks, and Salmonberries!

Today was a nice Monday. I put mulch around a lot of evergreens and other plants today. I learned that mulch helps keep the ground wet and also helps the native plants grow. I had empathy for Corey when he said he hated talking.
I met my goal of empathy when I was daily DJ and played the Symon Asher song, Born in Hollywood. My dad plays in Symon Asher which is why I have it on my Zune player. Kerry commented on the song by saying it was really good. This shows a symbol of empathy which is the ability to identify, understand, and respect thoughtfully to the feelings and perspectives of others. I did see a Cooper's Hawk flying by and one perched on a branch. I also seen evidence of where the nest might be.
It was fun to do all the work and have another burping contest with Corey and I also met both of my goals by asking Nate why we work here and I also took less breaks and worked hard and that's why I has a good day. I asked Peter why we put the stuff around and he said because so it can grow.
Today I pulled a million morning glories & I had a burping contest with Ryan. I was perspective most of the time when I talked to Nate about the TV shows I hated and those shows were "Phineas & Ferb", & "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody"
Today was pretty good. today i did molding which is putting woodchips
around ferns and other envirmental plants. Helping them live a long time. I was very perspective today asking cory about his perspective about his least favorite Tv show he said it was The sweet life of Zack and Cody. The reason he says that is Cody is smart and Zack is diinkwiqt.
